Turkey Flights:
Turkey is home to over 20 airports, some major, some minor with the three major airports being located in Istanbul , Ankara and Antalya.

The Istanbul airport, called the Atatürk International Airport, is located 23 km west of Old Istanbul and is the busiest of all of Turkey’s airports. Most international cheap flights come through Istanbul and it has the most modern of International Terminals, with vast traveler’s amenities accessible such as an ATM, where the new Turkish Lira is available, currency exchange offices, cafes, restaurants, bars, shops and a hotel attached to the airport. Also, in the airport is the Istanbul Metro, offering train service to a number of locations, one of them being the main bus terminal. Outside the airport are taxis but should you prefer to drive yourself, there are several car hire locations inside the terminals. All major airlines in Europe fly into the Atatürk International Airport as well as there being numerous regional airlines providing connecting service to Ankara and several other smaller towns and cities.

The Ankara airport, known as Esenboga Airport, is 33 km north of the city center and is a smaller airport than the Atatürk, but it is serviced by some international airlines but primarily regional. This airport has a number of traveler’s amenities such as an ATM, a currency exchange bank, several restaurants and cafes, and a duty free shop. Some other facilities offered there are a hairdresser, a shoe parlor, a souvenir shop, bookstores and a playground for children. Antalya’s airport, optimally named the Antalya Airport, is a mere 10 km from the center of Antalya and provides a variety of services for its travelers, whether you’re passing through or staying for a few days. This airport has two international terminals, serviced by all the major European airlines, as well as several smaller, regional ones. Some of the services provided in the terminals are a currency exchange bank in each international terminal, though the exchange rates there are generally higher than other places. The ATM’s offer a more favorable exchange so that might be a better option if you need Lira before arriving at your hotel.

Arriving in Turkey is easy and almost enjoyable. Visitors from most countries require a visa though it doesn’t necessarily have to be bought in advance. Before traveling, though, check governmental regulations for Turkey to make certain whether you need a visa or not. There is also the alternative of buying your visa upon arrival at the airport. The primary requirements for this is that your passport’s expiration must no less than six months hence and you must pay in cash, with no credit cards or traveler’s checks accepted. In addition, when paying cash, exact change is required and it must be in the currencies of the United States, the British Pound or Euros only.

When planning holidays in Turkey there is no need to be stressful or difficult, up to and including acquiring your visa. When planning cheap holidays, make sure to include cheap holidays in Turkey. The food, beauty, shopping and general hospitality should be enough to attract and more than enough to make you want to stay!
