Legends say that this place of one of the most powerful empire known to man was founded by two twins Romulus and Remus and was taken care by a she-wolf after they were thrown in the Tiber River. Though the Roman Empire had collapsed and the city suffered great damages from world wars, the city has successfully preserved its historical wonders which greatly contribute to its tourism.
