Other main beaches in the area are Playa de Sotavento and Playa de Barvolento – the first being known as the leeward beach (or the beach in the lee of the wind) which showcases an enormous lake like formation especially during high tide, and the latter being the windward beach where sea conditions are very much more violent and is less accessible to many.
