Paleokastritsa holidays:
Paleokastritsa is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Corfu but many also consider Paleokastritsa as one of the best European tourist spots to enjoy cheap holidays. This charming village offers breathtaking sceneries with dull cliffs coated in bright green. According to Greek mythology, the bay of Paleokastritsa was where Odysseus had landed and met the lovely Nausicaa.

This place consists of several sparkling bays with crystal-clear waters lapping the verdant feet of the hills. You can head upwards along the rugged roads of these hills and see the overlooking grandeur of the whole place. Paleokastritsa has lush vegetation, and you can see olive, lemon and cypress trees on its landscapes. The hills have winding roads leading to different beaches and it is as much challenge as fun to most drivers.

The bays of Paleokastritsa are perfect for diving and snorkeling. The rocky shores stretch to the seabed in the form of corals where schools of fishes abound. If you’ve gone tired of exploring the bottom of the sea, you can take a small boat and explore the hidden crevices and caves in the area.

Paleokastritsa is quiet and a steady place, with sparse nightlife here and there. If you’re up to some partying or just want to be in a crowd, you can visit the tavernas and bars on the hillsides. There are discos, too, which are frequented by British folks who adore the place.

There are lots of different accommodations, from villas to hotels, in excellent locations. You may book into one of these through a tour which is inclusive of water-taxi to the nearest beaches or land transport to the market and other landmarks. A notable landmark is a museum that houses Byzantine icons and traditions. Among these is the icon of the “Deposition from the Cross” dating back in 1764.
