Holidays in Murcia:
The region of Murcia is known as an educational center of Spain. Schools and universities dot the region's coast, something that spurred the development of the place from a provincial community to a cosmopolitan city. hotels, inns, cafes, restaurants and resorts line up the roads in the region's central district. Hang-out places and watering holes are usually packed by students and tourists who both enjoy the picturesque landscape along the coast.

Murcia is also famous for its beautiful beaches and wide, open fields on valleys. The more popular places are the valleys of Segura and Guadaletin. Here you will find modern residential communities that stand side by side with ancient houses. Also worth visiting in Murcia are the old cathedrals. The grandest and most impressive of all is the Cathedral of Murcia, a building known for its maze-like design, with different entrance doors leading to entirely different places. There is also a museum in the interiors of the cathedral which gives more details and information about the place.

Murcia's capital Cartagena, has lots of interesting sights and monuments owing to its rich history and traditions. Here you will find the Archeological Museum, impressive for its ancient design. You will marvel at the realistic models of the Iberian City of Mastia in this museum. Despite its traditional look, Cartagena also has a thriving industry and has made impressive progress. Near Cartagena is the similarly historic town of Caravaca de la Cruz, a splendid place that overflows with archeological masterpieces seen in its roads, buildings and residences. There is the municipal Archeological Museum which used to be the Church of Our Lady of Solitude. Also not far from Cartagena are the towns Alhama and Mula, with splendid castles and 15th century buildings laden with medieval history The region has a 170 kilometer coastline, with beautiful beaches adorned with lush vegetation and modern spa resorts.
