Hisaronu holidays:
The Turkish shores are often called “The Turquoise Coast” and for good reason, it’s stunning like the finest turquoise gem. While planning cheap holidays in Turkey, how about arranging to spend them in the dazzling Hisaronu? Hisaronu is the charming city tucked away near cities of Fethiye and Olu Deniz, along the western border of Turkey on the Mediterranean Ocean. It offers a true Turkish experience for its guests.

Hisaronu has some of the most exciting side trips for you to experience such as paragliding from the side of the Babadağ Mountain, resulting in a landing on the beach, paddling a canoeing down the Xanthos River to Patara, battling against others in a paintball session inside the pine forest that surround the city. If you prefer less adrenalin filled days you could hire a dolmus (taxi) to visit the bazaar in nearby Fethiye; ride a glass-bottom boat around the bay or take a day trip to the Greek island of Rhodes.

Another exciting day trip might be a visit to Kayaköy, a “ghost village” about ten kilometers from Hisaronu that was once inhabited Anatolian Greeks until they abandoned it in 1923 following a population exchange signed into agreement by the governments of Turkey and Greece. It is now preserved as a museum of sorts, with hundreds of rundown, but still standing, houses and churches spread over several square kilometers. Finally, make it a point to visit the local Hammam for a good scrub down but do it early in the trip or that luscious tan you worked on during your stay will be scrubbed away!

In seeking accommodations, Hisaronu has dozens of hotels, inns, apartments and villas from which to choose; all offer a variety of rates to include half- and all-inclusive boards. The hotels are opulent, per the usual Turkish standard of spoiling their guests, and the people of Turkey are warm and welcoming to the visitors of their country. They carry a tremendous pride in where they’re from and the love to share this, so if you have any questions, doesn’t be afraid to ask.

For transportation, there is an excellent taxi system in place with the drivers usually having a set rate for a particular trip. Always remember to negotiate the fare before the trip starts so you don’t spend too much on this particular necessity of travel. Always remember, most everything is negotiable in Turkey, including menus at restaurants.

Though the practice is declining due to the rise in tourism and the westernization of some practices there, some restaurants don’t show prices on their menu with the understanding a price will be negotiated beforehand. If you learn nothing else while in Turkey, you will learn the fine art of haggling for anything. In Hisaronu, there is a vast array of restaurants with as many international cuisines from which to choose. It’s always fun to try the cuisine of a different country and in Hisaronu you will be exposed to all, but make certain to fit in a meal of traditional Turkish food as it is delicious and worth trying.

Sand, adventure, history and the welcome of a wonderful people, Hisaronu has all this and more. When arranging cheap holidays in Hisronu, know you are visiting a place that will leave you wanting to return again and again.
