Though there are many ways of getting to Fodele, but usually the Heraklion International Airport is far the best way since the airport is after all in Greece. The Heraklion International Airport or "Nikos Kazantzakis” serves Heraklion, Agios Nikolaos, Malia, Hersonissos and other sorts of resorts known. It is also Crete's main and busiest airport and for its passengers, it is strictly prohibited to take photographs and videos of its runway. This is because the Hellenic Air Force base which operates at the airport. And buses, taxis, and even rental cars are available at the airport.
