Paphos Holidays – A famous tourist destination in Cyprus
Paphos is located in the south west of Cyprus; it is a very beautiful area and well worth a visit, no wonders why holidays in Paphos are so popular for the UK holiday makers. Paphos has its own airport, about 6km from the town itself so transfers are easy.
Cheap deals, all inclusive holiday deals and maybe some late deals are perennially available for holidays in Paphos. There are also several family deals as it is a family friendly resort. And of course it is not just for summer holidays but for winter sun holidays as well.
Holidays in Paphos - Great combination of beach resort and historic hill town
Paphos area consists of four main resorts: Coral Bay, Polis, Latchi and Aphrodite Hills. Paphos consists of Kato Paphos, located near the mediaeval harbour, with top end hotels and Paphos Town, which includes the old town that is redolent of history, so much so that it is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Aphrodite Hills is the newest and extremely posh resort with its own 18 hole golf course; it has hosted some very well known footballers in its time. Take time to visit the small marina which is lined with restaurants and cafes, great place to take a Greek coffee. Probably best not to ask for a Turkish coffee. You may also like to time your holidays in Paphos to coincide with the Aphrodite festival in September – catch the opera on the beach. Some beach areas are pebbly (Kato Paphos) but the Municipal beach is sandy as is Faros and Coral Bay. There are busses which can take you to the more distant beaches. Water-sports are available on most beaches, so enjoy a view from a few feet up on a parasail. You can also hike into the Troodos mountains, or take a jeep safari if you feel like a change of scene. And the Aphrodite (everything is Aphrodite as she was born here) Waterpark has some fantastic rides.
Paphos Holidays – Great nightlife and weather!
There is a good nightlife in Paphos based on Bar Street (sometimes called Nightlife Street). During on holidays in Paphos you will find many themed clubs which appeal to ages across the board, really good fun to be had.
Temperatures in Paphos run up to the 30°C in the summer and tend not to drop below 17°C in the winter. Paphos can suffer from heat waves as hot air blows up from the Sahara during the summer. But the weather is overall lovely with a little rain coming in the November-March period.
