Limassol is a big town, the second largest in sunny Cyprus. The nearest airports are Larnaca or Paphos, both just over 40 miles away, so there will be a fairly long transfer time. Holidays in Limassol combine a cosmopolitan Cypriot town with a well-known beach resort in the centre of the south coast of Cyprus. There seem to be unlimited deals for holidays in Limassol – cheap holiday deals, family deals, all inclusive holiday deals and maybe some late deals. You can slot Limassol in for your summer holiday or maybe an off season winter sun holiday in autumn or spring when the climate is milder.

Holidays in Limassol – Plenty of shopping and beach choices
Limassol is a large port and has for years been a transit point for Mediterranean shipping. It has an old town, well worth a visit, particularly as it is (ladies) right by a central town shopping street - many streets in the old town are cobbled so mind the heels. There are other shopping malls with recognisable brand names around the city so no need to confine yourself to one area. But you selected probably holidays in Limassol mainly for the beaches - the best beach is Ladies’ Beach, about 4km west of the town, take a sunshade for this one. There are a few tavernas for a cup of coffee or a snack. This is not the only beach of course; there are fine beaches and coves all along the coast. Take time to walk through the Municipal Gardens behind the sea front, they are pretty and shady. There are a couple of festivals you may like to target, in February/March and August/September. Or how about putting your name down for the Limassol marathon, makes a change from the London.

Limassol is not short of nightlife. You will undoubtedly find something you like amongst the many pubs, clubs, bars and tavernas, mainly around the Galatex tourist area.

The climate is hot in the summer and mild in the winter, with rainfall mainly November to February. The spring and autumn are very pleasant and maybe an option which appeals.
