They call Cyprus Aphrodite’s Island, because in ancient Greek mythology it’s the birthplace of goddess Aphrodite, and certainly it is an island to love. Of course each resort has its own character – Protaras and Paphos are laid back whereas Ayia Napa is perhaps infamous as party centre. Although party centre means it has some great disco and night life spots.
