Holidays in the Canaries

Canaries Holidays – An island complex for all year round holidays
The Canaries, 70 or so miles off the coast of Africa, are as well known a holiday destination as you could wish for. They are set up to cater for all varieties of holiday traveller, from the young party goer to the mature quieter traveller. The islands are Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma and El Hierro,. Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and La Palma (few flights available for that island) have their own airports; El Hierro is served by ferry. With a sophisticated tourist background, there are all the deals for holidays in the Canaries: cheap deals, all inclusive holiday deals, family deals and late deals. You can decide to go for your summer holiday or your winter sun holiday; you will have an amazing holiday anyway.

Holidays in the Canaries – Different islands for different holiday experiences
The Canaries are volcanic islands that offer a mix of golden sand and black volcanic sand (which can be a turn-off for some). The volcanic island hinterlands are fascinating from the point of view of unusual scenery, flora and fauna, and many of the areas are protected national parks so the Canary Islands have a delicate balance between coping with the influx of tourists and preserving the natural basis of the islands. Many quality hotels are available in all islands, especially in the four largest (Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura) that offer a greater number of accommodation options.

The main tourist areas cater for different visitors, but surely holidays in the Canaries won’t disappoint anyone. For instance, for holidays in Lanzarote there is Playa Blanca which is a good family resort, for holidays in Fuerteventura there are great beaches and the wind makes it a windsurfing destination, for holidays in Gran Canaria you will find fine beaches and family oriented locations in the very developed south of the island and holidays in Tenerife offer very developed resorts catering for all except those wanting to get away from it all (although there is a fab inland national park). La Palma is more agricultural than touristic and El Hierro is the wildest of the group.

Canaries Holidays – The weather in the Canaries
The weather in the Canaries is one of the main reasons for visiting. The average in the winter is 17°C and in the summer 24°C, with of course some local variations. So it is rarely too hot nor too cold. The southern halves of the islands are actually noticeably warmer than the northern halves in the winter. Choose your spot, go for the summer holiday or the winter sun holiday, and you will have a great break.
