Holidays in Casablanca:
Casablanca sits on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean and is the industrial center of Morocco. It is an exquisite city of narrow alleyways and antiquated pubs, home to more than three million people who painstakingly preserved the city’s past allure amid the demands of industrial development.
There are a number of reasons to remember Casablanca. But the most popular and probably timeless of all is the legacy it etched in Hollywood. The movie Casablanca has been a classic film that popularized the city and entrenched Morocco as one of the most premier tourist
destinations. The colors of Casablanca had been captured on film so many times that it has been etched on the minds of many who would, in their trips to the place, prove that, true enough, just like Marlyn Dietrich, there is an extravagance of mystic appeal in Casablanca.
You will never be lost in Casablanca, literally. Street signs abound, everyone knows all the places in the city. The best places are the ones easiest to find: The King Hassan II Mosque is a first must-see. Built in the 20th century, the mosque is one of the largest in the world and has the tallest minaret. It is one of man’s creations that is simply breathtaking and colossal. The old Medina at the far-end of the city is frequently visited and is famous for its well-preserved walled villages that have stood for thousands of years. These are small colonies that are believed to have been the first one built by the Berbers.
A number of resorts can be found in the Corniche, where many western tourists go to get the usual western fare of burgers and fries. There are often
flights to Casablanca and there are many
hotels to choose from. There are a few first class restaurants that offer native Moroccan food that are well-worth the trip to the seaside. Casablanca is also a place for relatively large souks that are flocked by tourists hunting for souvenirs. The souks give Casablanca a tinge of cultural heritage within a city that in many ways resemble most of industrial cities in Europe.
