Having cheap holidays in the coast of Algarve will leave tourists confused of which resort to stay in. All of the municipalities in Algarve boast in their lovely beaches and other attractions; one of the famous cities in Algarve is Lagoa.

In Lagoa, there is a small fishing village that captures the hearts of many tourists; this place is called Carvoeiro from the word Caboiere which means a settlement for fishermen during the Middle Ages. Hence, the sea has been intertwined in the lives of the locals.

As tourism in the whole region of Algarve grew in the 60s, Carvoeiro transformed into a vibrant village from a simple and quite fishing village.

There also some ruins that withstood earthquake damages like the old fort in the western part and was built since the 17th century.
