The village of Antigua is one of the oldest in Fuerteventura. It is a relatively small town, covering only a little over a couple hundred square meters of area and housing only a few thousand residents, but for a very short while in the 18th century became the island's capital. The Centro de Artesania is yet another restoration Antigua is proud of. The public is allowed to view the inside of this restored windmill, but aside from this they could enjoy looking at a small cactus garden in the area as well. It has grown to be a cultural center that showcases and houses craft shops which sell handicrafts and art stuff for the tourists and some local restaurants also.
