Cheap holidays Algarve is filled with numerous sights and landmarks to visit during your holidays. Aside from the Clock Tower, churches and castles, here are some of them: Chapel of the Bones

Also known as the “Capela de Ossos”, every tourist should never miss visiting this site. As the name denotes, this chapel is consist of bones and skulls from 1,250 monks that used to serve this religious site. The bones and skulls adorn the whole chapel, from the altar to the ceiling. This chapel can be found in another church, the Ingreja do Carmo Church which also has its Baroque altar designs.

Cabo do Sao Vicente This site is both historical and religious and itself an ancient ruin. Literally means, “Cape of St. Vincent”, this area sitting high on top of a cliff overlooking the ocean has been used as a place of worship way back the Neolithic times. It is also a witness to various naval battles that occurred in the area. This place used to house the remains of St. Vincent; a globetrotting fisherman before it was moved to Lisbon. This site has its famous lighthouse, a 16th century fortress and a chapel.

Old Towns Algarve has many old towns that will surely take the fancy from most tourists. The most famous ones are the old towns of Albufeira and Faro. The old town of Faro dates back to the Roman times with old town gates, cobbled street and a convent. In Albufiera, old houses are still existent on hills with little shops for tourists to have some shopping.

Monchique and Sagres This present-day villages used to be known as silves, the capital of the Moorish conquest of the region. In this old capital that is situated on the foothills of Mt. Monchique have its Gothic cathedral and a castle of red sandstone which is of Moorish influence.

Xorino Cave This cave is not just a natural wonder a great place to keep in touch with nature but it also has its historical importance. This cave used to be the hide-out of the Moors when they became fugitive after the Christians successfully reclaimed portugal.
