Getting to Zante:
Being an island, the choices for getting to Zante are limited but it won’t be difficult, with the proper planning. Arriving by sea is a popular choice by Europeans near Greece with ferries coming from Killini, Kefalonia, the St.Nicolas Port in Volimes and the Pessada Port in Kefalonia regularly and taking only an hour or so, depending on the status of the water and weather. Athens, Greece has frequent and habitual flights to Zante but there are direct flights from the UK, France, Holland and Italy as well.

If a transfer is necessary for your flight to Zante it is almost assured to be in Athens, with it being the nearest major airport to Zante. As the airport on Zante is small, it’s safe to assume the airplanes flying into it are small though Thomas Cook Airlines flies Boeing 757 airplanes to the island. Plan on tight quarters while flying but as the flight will be short, it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

The staffs of the airlines are professionals and though the flight is short, it will not be without the care and attention tourists prefer when traveling. The airport on Zante is small but there has been an increase in tourism in the last few years so it has been expanded with more on the way. The arrivals section recently underwent growth with the addition of another terminal while the departures section is currently being added to, allowing for more seating.

Upon arrival at the Zante airport, located on the southeastern corner of the island, there are taxis available for hire though those with package deals for their visit will find the coaches from their respective hotels will be waiting outside the terminals. Zante enjoys a wonderful rapid transit service in the form of a bus service. There are stops for the busses all over the island, including the airport and ferry terminals, for those with no arranged transportation and on a budget precluding taxis.

When planning your Cheap holidays to Zante, transportation to the island, while limited to just a few operators, is plentiful with arrivals. Once you’re there, getting around is the easiest of all, with taxis, coaches and busses ready to take you where every you need to go.
