Getting to Tunisia:
With Tunisia’s proximity to land and water, there are a number of ways to arrive there from most anywhere in the world, including short hops from Paris and London.

France

Italy, several ferries traveling to and from Tunisia every day, with the major ports of departure being Marseilles, Sicily and Genoa. Tunisia’s major incoming port will be
Tunis, though there are many smaller ports for tourists. When departing
Tunisia, travelers may choose from a number of cities such as Palermo, Cittavecchia, Naples (only between the months of June to September), Salerno and Livorno. It should also be noted that many of the Mediterranean cruises will make stops in Tunisia during the course of their trip. From these ports, the travel time will be roughly 20 hours or slightly more, affording travelers the opportunity to enjoy shipboard accommodations and dining.

cheap flight, the major airports are Tunis Cathage International,
Monastir International Airport and the Tozeur International Airport. All the aforementioned airports offer a full line of traveler’s services such as bars, restaurants, both incoming and outgoing duty-free shops, banks for monetary exchange and
car hire locations. Outside the terminals are taxis and busses offering local travel, but travelers will be able to plan travel to other points within the country. Air travel times from cities such as London or Paris, offering direct flights, will be around three hours. If you wish to arrive by road, bus and lousages (shared taxis) are the preferred method of travel into and out of Tunisia. There are many buses traveling from Tripoli to Tunis each day and louages from Tunis, Sfax, Gabès, Medenine, Houmt Souq and Ben Guerdane. Whether arriving by land, sea or air, if you are planning to travel beyond the main locations given, some extended travel will be in order. To travel further inland, there are car hires, busses, trains and
taxis. Train travel, operated by the Tunisian Railways (SNCFT) will be available mainly between the towns of Tunis,
Sousse, El Jem, Sfax and Gabès. This is an economical means of travel but it is limited to these cities.
Tunisia is one of Africa’s most exciting destinations and its generous availability of means to travel into and around the country makes it one of the more accessible locations when planning a
cheap holiday. North, south, east and west, Tunisia has much to offer. From
sandy beaches to sandy deserts to mountainous travel in the north, there is something for everyone when planning a cheap holiday and getting to most cities in Tunisia should not be a problem.
