Things to Do in Tenerife:
Cheap holidays in Tenerife are easy to plan and finding things to do are even easier, with the right amount of planning. With festivals galore, nearly every month of the year, a holiday can be considered around these events. In February, not only is the weather inviting but so is the Tenerife Carnival, an island wide event with the main event taking place near Santa Cruz. Oft spoken of as the best carnival following Rio De Janeiro, the Tenerife Carnival music, costumes, parades and street entertainment, as well as the “burial of the sardine” ritual that takes place throughout the island. In November is the wine tasting “Fiesta de San Andres” located in Icod de los Vinos, one of the island’s oldest towns. Those too young to imbibe of the wine slide the streets on greased boards paying homage to rolling out the barrels. Every family opens its cellar and tastes the new wine in a celebration with traditional folk music. There are many more festivals and carnivals to be celebrated at other times of the year, with others being devoted to celebrating saints and music.

In the evenings, following a delicious and filling meal in one of the islands many superlative restaurants, usually offering a pleasant blend of French and Mediterranean cuisine, what about visiting a local pub for some drinks and dancing. One option might be “The Full Monty Fun Pub” in Playas da Las Americas, which offers music, cabaret and entertainment each night. Another choice could be “The Chill Out Bar” at Playa las Vistas in Los Cristianos. The design and decor of the bar is contemporary and stylish and you will enjoy some smooth jazz, all while relaxing on sofas placed about the room. If you prefer something a bit unusual, in Las Galletas is “Vai Moana”, a combination bar and restaurant with a labyrinth built around the dining tables, creating an ambience of privacy and personal space, all surrounded by art, décor and music.
