Cyprus Sights and Monuments:
Cyprus has a giant lot to offer, and normally for the common tourist on cheap holidays, the whole island is not possible to explore in just one trip (unless you have a really long vacation period). The island has a rich collection of sights and monuments ranging from spectacular ancient sites, outstanding architectural structures, to superb natural wonders.

A few highlights are to be discussed in general in this guide. However, it still depends on you as an individual to consider these places great as well as others do. Cyprus tourists prove to possess different tastes and preferences, but nonetheless, the island has definitely something to offer each and everyone.

Being an island, Cyprus has a multitude of beaches and coastal areas to boast. Each region has a unique characteristic: the eastern bays are known for its fine, white sandy beaches with shallow waters near the shore and deep water areas perfect for snorkeling and diving. The southern coast is packed with grey sand, and the western beaches contain the secluded coves other tourists prefer. The most famous beach resort in the whole of Cyprus is the Phinikoudes Beach bordering the town of Larnaca. Apart from the gorgeous beaches, Cyprus also features numerous historical and cultural sites. Within the island you can experience one of Mediterranean's oldest civilizations first hand. Cyprus is home to UNESCO world heritage sites, one of which is called the Tombs of the Kings. Other fine examples of ancient remains are the medieval walls of Nicosia and the Maa-Palaeokastro settlement. Cyprus also houses a number of museums and art galleries, in which exhibits of olden relics and artifacts can be viewed up close.

The top of the cliffs also offer marvelous views of temples and theaters, and more interestingly, a Roman theater still stands today; wherein spectacular performances are executed and the fabulous mosaic floors are admired. Hidden away in the island's forests are painted churches and colorful frescoes. Indeed every corner of the island has something to delight the tourist's eyes – providing absolute pleasure for cheap holidays in Cyprus.
